TRANSLATION:
CHLORINE & HYPO SAFETY TRAINING, NANTONG CHINA, 19th – 29th
SEPT 2000:
It was our pleasure to have Mr. Steve Roberts give us training on Chlorine shortly before
we introduced chlorine into our Zeneca Nantong Paraquat plant. The training lasted for
nine days, was run in three sessions, and over seventy Zeneca Nantong employees
participated in it.
The training covered all aspects of chlorine, including its chemical & physical
properties, operation, transportation, storage, emergency handling and so on.
During the training, Steve showed us lots of pictures, videos, historical records and
statistics. He organised group discussion and table-top exercises of various Chlorine
incident case studies, and also gave summaries of our on-site plant operation etc.
The training was very successful and through this our staff are now fully confident of
handling this very special and dangerous chemical in their future job duties.
